UPCOMING WORKSHOPS

KUTCH WEAVING WORKSHOP

Instructor: Pachan Premji

Date: Tuesday, December 3, 2024

Time: 10:00am - 5:00pm

Location: Montezuma Lodge

In this workshop, Pachan will teach traditional Kutch supplemental weft design using a technique that combines loom control and finger manipulation.

BANDHANI TIE-NOW, DYE-LATER WORKSHOP

Instructor: Adil Khatri

Date: Thursday, December 5, 2024

Time: 9:00am - 12:00pm

Location: Montezuma Lodge

In this workshop, you will learn traditional Kutch bandhani (tie dye) using technuqes that combine bandhani (tiny dots), shibori (stitched resist), and clamp dye. For this half-day class, we will be manipulating and tying the fabric to prepare for dye but we will not be dyeing it. Participants can then continue to work on tying and stitching their fabric over the winter and dye it later in spring when it warms up.
